Since the moment that sin was committed in the Garden of Eden, man has wanted a transformation in his destiny. From that very minute when Adam and Eve sinned, people have dreamed of a better, more perfect condition, on the inside we feel that we have lost something important and meaningful. I will not get tired of repeating that God created man for happiness. We desire to have success in our business, our family, and our ministry. The Lord also desires this for us and He rejoices with us when we have succeeded. Remember that when our child does something good, it brings us joy to our heart, but when they bury their potential, which was given to them by God, and don’t believe in it or realize their abilities, when they don’t reach their goals, this really upsets us. Of course we all made mistakes, we got tired but when we are determined, it brings success into our lives.
Jesus said: «Be like children». What does this mean? Children do not think like we do. They believe simply. Once my daughter saw a figure skater on the Olympics Championships on television and by seeing her she said: «Daddy, I can also do what she does because I can stand on one leg and that means I can skate like she does». I was amazed at her confidence but I still answered her by saying: «You have to work really hard and you will definitely be able to do that». Adults think and right away find reasons why they can’t do something, why they can’t reach one result or another. May you never be discouraged by negative thinking because Jesus gives new transformations.
So, there are five points that will help you transform your destiny.
1. The transformation of destiny comes from great desire that is shown by sacrifice of everything old that is dissatisfying in our life.
We often don’t sacrifice anything but still desire something new and better for our lives. We don’t sacrifice old things and hold onto them but they do not bring result, we love them only because they acclimated to us.
Now as He was going out on the road, one came running, knelt before Him, and asked Him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?” (Mark 10:17).
So often we think that if we have a lot of money then nothing else is needed. But this man knew that riches will not substitute eternal life, it will not substitute a relationship with Jesus Christ. But in the end this man had riches that he could not bring himself to sacrifice.
Further in this chapter we read that the disciples of Jesus that they were bewildered and so Peter said: «See, we have left all and followed You». In other words he shared his thoughts: «Lord, You know that this cost us a lot, but we dream that our children will have every necessity. Jesus tell us man to men, what must we await? » The Lord answered and said: «Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house of brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s, who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time – houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions – and in the age to come, eternal life.». We must understand that it is necessary to leave something to be able to receive something from the Lord that is better
We can doubt in somebody’s words but the words of Jesus never lie. The disciples followed Christ but they never received anything, they lived by hope and promise that the Lord gave them. He brought them the words of faith, hope, and promise of the future.
2. Hope and faith come from the Word of God.
In order for a person to change, he needs the Word that comes from the heavens. Kenneth Hagen, a well known minister of God, would not pray for the problems of a person if he came without the Word that he could lean against with his faith.
...about eight days after these sayings, that He took Peter, John, and James and went up on the mountain to pray. As He prayed, the appearance of His face altered, and His robe became white and glistening, And behold, two men talked with Him, who were Moses and Elijah, who appeared in glory and spoke of His decease which He was about to accomplish at Jerusalem. But Peter and those with him were heavy with sleep; and when they were fully awake, they saw His glory and the two men who stood with Him. Then it happened, as they were parting form Him, that Peter said to Jesus,” Master it is good for us to be here; and let us make three tabernacles: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah” – not knowing what he said. While he was saying this, a cloud came and overshadowed them; and they were fearful as they entered the cloud. And a voice came out the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son. Hear Him!” When the voice had ceased, Jesus was found alone. But they kept quiet, and told no one in those days any of the things they had seen. (Luke 9:28-36).
God didn’t give anything to the disciples but He told them to listen to Jesus. The Word must be sowed into the heart so that the desired fruit would grow and prosper. But there is a thief - he who steals faith. It is very important to hold him within ourselves. When Jesus was transformed on the mountain of transformation, the cloud appeared, and God said “This is My beloved Son. Hear Him!”. In order to be changed we need to listen to the Word of Jesus everyday, to receive a RHEMA – a revelation everyday. This is the word of life, without it God cannot give anything: only when He releases His word only then He can fulfill it.
The disciples of Jesus Christ went and preached to word before came the signs and miracles. Because they knew that the word – is the basis for the transformation of destiny. When the word is released on children, it forms them. Remember that the word – it is the seed of the future. Where there is no word of life, there is the word the death. The word that you sow today will determine the fruit and reap of the future. Job, while he was in a terrible reality, was sowing the words of faith: «I know, my Redeemer lives, He will restore my life». Job did not look at the negative obstacles, but he looked upon the word that came from the heavens. He could not count on the encouragement of his wife or his friends. He knew that only the word can bring the water of life into his life. And Job saw a great transformation in his destiny: God, not only did He restore him, He put him on a higher and newer level.
If you want to be successful – be religious: despite your feelings, not expecting your desire, begin to pray in tongue, begin to praise God, and read the Word of God. Do not fill yourself with fear, disbelief, skepticism, and doubt. The Word of Life brings faith, hope, and transformation. The Word – is your daily bread. Jesus can easily throw in the net and take out a «good catch», but He wants to give us food for our whole life, not just for one day.
3. Purposeful Prayers.
Jesus came onto the mountain and began to pray. He didn’t feel anything in the beginning but then the cloud came down from heaven. The same way we must warm up the gift of prayer, to begin raising our spirit, turning on the right music, and only then will our prayer change and the fire of God will come down on us. At first, the disciples fell asleep because they didn’t see anything special. All of a sudden Jesus looks around – and everyone is asleep. But in order to be transformed, you don’t need to sleep,
you need to be awake and praying even when others are already sleeping – purposefully and persistently. The glory of God comes when you pray, not when you are feeling something.
The disciples woke up and saw Moses and Elijah, who were talking with Jesus about the moment the He will crucified. Peter, John and James slept through everything, completely relying on their feelings. But once they woke up, they saw the glory of God and said, “It is good for us here”, but later they never said anything like that again, even when they witnessed other miracles. There is no better place on earth except for the presence of God. The Garden of Eden – was also a unique place because God was also there. They went into the cloud and saw the glory of Jesus, Moses, the representative of the law, wasn’t there, Elijah wasn’t there, just Jesus – and it was good being with Him. Promises don’t come for you to receive something from Jesus, but for the sole purpose of you to enter into His presence. The disciples united with Him, they became closer with Jesus it was really good with Him.
4. Extremely radical actions caused by the circumstances.
Sometimes the circumstances threaten us with destruction, even death. And we think, is it possible that everything is finished? In fact, many people try to do something but their life still ends foolishly. But today God says, “I want to come into your life and transform your destiny. The extremely horrible circumstances – are My calling to you, so that you would begin to do something, something that you would not even think about doing yesterday”. God has a goal, for you, your city, and your nation to be transformed.
Remember the story of Moses. In the second chapter of Exodus, a story about the first days of his life are described. His mother saw that he was a beautiful boy, she cried and prayed for her sons life to be saved. But all of sudden, a betrayal, somebody gave away that in their Jewish family they had a son who was three months old. She could not accept his death. But it was either death, or transformation – sometimes there is only one choice left. She cried and said, “Is it possible that my son will die, is it possible that some promises don’t work?” She didn’t run away from hard circumstances, but she overcame them. God placed a dream into her heart. She made a basket, put her boy into it, and let it flow into the river. When he ended up being in the house of the pharaoh, she came and fed him, but she also knew that it was her last time to be able to put into everything so that he would never become an adulterer or an atheist, so that he would belong to God, not Egypt. This way, she went for the most radical action which resulted in her son being saved. And in the end result, he led the Hebrew nation out of the slavery of the Egyptians.
I believe that our eyes will see the glory of God in this city, in this church, and in our nation, thanks to the radical actions of many believers. This is serious! Maybe before you did not scream like that, you did not pray but the time came today to make a choice – to do everything possible so that your family, your nation would not parish. When Moses grew up and asked God to show him His glory, God fulfilled his dream. Moses saw God from the back and came down from the mountain of transformation with two tablets. This was a moment when not only Moses’ destiny was transformed but also the destiny of the nation, and the destiny of the whole world.
5. A persistent decision to never give without any alternatives.
Remember the story of Jacob. Jacob was left alone in his hard situation: his destiny was being decided. He was not fighting with God to just fight. We frequently pray simply to pray, we intercess simply to intercess. But Jacob was a man of prayer and went to extreme measures, but this did not transform him. Only a few hours of decision were left, he had his last chance, there was no alternative. And he said to
God, “I will not let go of You until You bless me”. Remember, this was not just a call. At that very moment, all the bridges were burned. And he was yelling, “God, I want to live, bless me. I want to see my children, my grand-children, I want to live. I won’t let go of You”. God liked this and He blessed Jacob, “From now on you are transformed, from now the whole world will know that there is no more Jacob, there is now Israel”. Thought Jacob only wanted transformation for him and his children, the history of the whole world was transformed, since God does more than just the transformation of only one destiny.
How many of us can say to God, “I will not let go of You”? We should not just be grey individuals, just warm leaders. God likes it when we transform into the image of His Son – the resurrected Jesus Christ. He wants to be proud of you, to praise you and say to the devil, “Look, he is not like the others. He is transformed into the image of Jesus. He is – My Son!”.
